Mark Clement has been a residential contractor for nearly 20 years. He got his start building docks in the cold waters off the coast of Cape Cod, and has since built everything from decks to whole-house renovations.
Mark is HGTVpro.com's tool and how-to ace. He was the award-winning editor of Tools of the Trade magazine and helped launch the industry's first Spanish language magazine, El Nuevo Constructor. He has contributed his home- improvement expertise to several national magazines and has appeared on HGTV, The DIY Network, PBS and The Discovery Channel. He's the author of the novel www.TheCarpentersNotebook.com and an activity book called The Kid’s Carpenter’s Workbook, Fun Family Projects!
When Mark's not writing about building, he's renovating his 100-year-old home, spending time with family, playing racquetball or training for his next triathlon. So it's probably little surprise that one of his favorite inspirational mottos comes from stair and rafter cutting — Rise and Run!
