Builder Rebate Systems

Watch the video on Builder Rebate Systems.

Like other industries, the housing industry is increasingly taking advantage of computer-based and Internet-based solutions. In the mid-1990s, many builders used the Internet only to check email. Today, the technology exists for builders to use computer-based, automated solutions that help with a variety of functions that were once paper-based, including construction management, estimating and costing, scheduling, and punchlist management.

Even with the industry tapped into the high-tech arena, many builders don't know that there are several automated rebate management services that can help them cash in on the many rebates offered to builders. The last thing any homebuilding professional wants (or needs) is to spend hours on paperwork. And because many builders think that dealing with paperwork and red tape is the only way to cash in on rebates and incentives, they shy away from the headaches and thus miss an opportunity to collect valuable rebate money.

Automated rebate management services are available for both large and small homebuilders. Large homebuilders generally have established relations with specific vendors and prefer to customize a rebate service to take advantage of their existing relationships. There are services designed for that purpose that interface with purchasing software and automatically calculate rebates based on what's ordered. These programs generate and send rebate requests and create invoices for administrative bookkeeping. Though these services are generally fee-based, imagine rebate dollars flowing into your office without you having to lift a finger!

Smaller builders can use services that provide a list of vendors offering rebates, so they can choose products based on available rebates. Because vendors pay to be listed, these services are generally free of charge.
