1937 Chicago Home Remodel

The homeowners of this 1937 Chicago-area house loved their neighborhood and didn't want to move, but they needed more space to meet the needs of their growing family. Architect Dario Tainer came up with a design that nearly doubled the home's space, taking it up to 4,100-square feet, but still maintained the character of the original home.

After the remodel is finished, the front of the home remains relatively unchanged but the back changes dramatically. More windows and a new second story are the major exterior changes. Inside, the home features a new family room, kitchen, master suite, and home office.
