Wes McCurry, developer of the 2009 HGTV Green Home
Wesley "Wes" McCurry is a vice president of Core Communities, LLC. In this role, he leads a team providing entitlement, land planning and development management for all aspects of real estate development, including residential, commercial and mixed-use master planned communities.

In his role as president of Tradition Development Company, LLC, Wes also oversees the planning, development and day-to-day operations of one of the nation's most popular master-planned communities, the 8,200 acre Tradition, Florida.

Wes is no stranger to the real estate development industry, having spent more than 13 years as a city planner and a real estate executive, which taught him the importance of aligning community and private development goals. His varied background in public sector growth management and real estate development provides the perfect foundation for securing development entitlements and creating innovative and desirable community environments that appeal to multiple market segments.

He is a qualified land planner and holds the American Institute of Certified Planners certification from the American Planning Association and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee. A big believer in creating sustainable and lifestyle-oriented communities through the incorporation of innovative design principles and a diverse mix of land uses, he supports the Urban Land Institute and the Congress for New Urbanism through membership and active participation.
