2007 Builders' Show: Services
2007 IBS Product Reviews

(Continued from Page 1)

Return to the 2007 International Builders' Show

Centex Careers
Before I get started, I have to announce a disclaimer. There may be other builders out there that have used the International Builders' Show to recruit employees. It's a big show. Those builders' booths might have been before my time, and I might have missed them during my caffeine-crazed missions bobbing and weaving through the miles of aisles to uncover what's cool in the home-building industry during the last seven years.

That said, I have to give some props to Centex. They stood company-proud trying to lure the attendees away from the companies that sent them to the show. And they had some nice items in their sweet bag of tricks and treats.

Centex offers specific training programs that include superintendent, land development, leadership, estimating and new-home sales. They offer profit sharing. And for younger people coming up in the building trades, there's a lure that's really hard to balk at: employee discounts on houses and home mortgages.

With more than 1,500 offices and jobsites around our great country (mostly concentrated on the coasts) there's a chance that Centex is near you.
