Electrochromic (EC) windows offer energy-conscious homebuyers the chance to finally have push-button control over the sun. EC windows are electronically tintable to reduce solar heat-gain in the summer while still allowing visible light to pass through. In the winter the windows can be left clear to let as much sunshine into the home as the short days allow.
One of the first manufacturers to bring EC windows to the market is SageGlass. By partnering with other industry leaders, Sage is offering a full line of architectural glass products in the form of skylights, sunrooms, and now customer windows.
Besides reducing energy demand, EC windows also enhance the interior comfort of the home by minimizing glare on computer and television screens and protecting furnishings from fading.
