StudioBecker's Modern cabinet collection
3. StudioBecker's Modern cabinet collection. This kitchen-cabinet line features exotic veneers, bright lacquer colors and strong flexibility for meeting specific needs with a dramatic flair. A variety of design elements complement the cabinetry pieces, while the accessory collection includes a range of task-oriented pieces to enhance the working environment. The Milano style shown here features taupe lacquer combined with design elements in high-gloss cherry wood.

"StudioBecker's exquisite cabinet finishes and unique design elements give us the opportunity to create kitchen designs unlike any other," says Bruce D. Johnson, CKD, president of Lee Kimball in Boston. "And their exclusive accessory collection maximizes the culinary experience."

Palm's Zire 72 handheld Personal Data Assistant
4. Palm's Zire 72 handheld Personal Data Assistant. This one's for the remodeler. The PDA includes a 1.2-megapixel camera that allows contractors to shoot photos and video clips that can be downloaded to their computer. It allows these images to be managed the same as schedules and contacts.

"I always took my PDA and digital camera with me to appointments," says Dennis Gehman, president of Gehman Custom Remodeling in Harleysville, Pa. "Now I have one less thing to carry. The clarity is great for 'before' pictures and to use in estimating projects. With the 256-mg expansion card, I can hold more than 4,000 photos at one time. That lets me use the camera on several back-to-back appointments/projects without fear of running out of memory."

Jenn-Air's Dual-Fuel Double Oven with Convection
5. Jenn-Air's Dual-Fuel Double Oven with Convection. This compact, free-standing oven (Model JDR8895-AAS) combines a gas cooktop with an electric oven to provide residential chefs with the same flexibility that restaurants have. The double-oven configuration, which includes a four-cubic-foot convection oven, allows two dishes to cook at different temperatures simultaneously.

"This free-standing range provides the features of a double oven but only takes up the space of a single oven," explains Alicea Owens, assistant project designer at Case Design-Remodel in Bethesda, Md. "I've specified it in three projects to date, and it's been well-received. Some of the clients were aware of it and some were not, but they are interested as soon as they learn about it."
