HOST: Dave, tell us about the great Lasco Products.
DAVE: I'd love to. We've got what's probably the largest line of gel coat and acrylic bath fixtures in the industry, everything from your one-piece tub/shower to your acrylic jetted tub. We even have a full line of accessible and code-compliant ADA-compliant bath fixtures for the special needs population.
HOST: And for the Builders' Show, is there a new service? A product that you're all rolling out this year?
DAVE: Yeah, we're focusing on a new program we have called Builder Services. And basically anyone who has dealt with our product knows it's a difficult product to handle. And what we're trying to do is, we're trying to make that easier and more cost effective for the builder. So we'll provide everything from direct installation of the product to staging and delivery, consultation on special types of installation. One area were that's real beneficial is in our freedom line institutional and accessible product where installation may be tricky because of the roll in application of the shower, especially. So we're able to come and offer either installation or, again, consultation and installation. One application where it's of upmost importance is in the accessible ADA bath fixture area where because of the roll in application there's very little slope in the shower, and it's very important to get a level installation. We're either able to provide that installation or provide consultation on the installation, also, to help insure that the job meets code compliance.
HOST: Because there's a lot of different codes and compliances we've got to deal with. So as a builder, what makes this very interesting to me is we've got a manufacturer that's willing to help me do not only take offs but installations.
DAVE: Well, code compliance can be a very scary thing for a builder. And the fact that Lasco can bear the risk there and handle that tricky job for them, I think, is a big value to them.
HOST: Well great. As a home builder I'm really glad to see you guys are stepping up, and especially helping us with ADA compliance issues. Now as a manufacturer are you doing installation, too?
DAVE: Sure. We do everything from direct installation to consultation on installation. We do jobsite delivery, staging of product, finalizing of product. If it gets damaged during the construction phase we'll come back in and polish it up and make it look good for the homeowner.
HOST: Great. Is there anything else Lasco wants to bring out this year, or are you mainly concentrating on the new Builder Services that will be a great benefit to the builders?
DAVE: That's our main focus, but we've also got something on the custom home side of the business. We've got a new sound system that we're integrating with our units where the tub or the shower is actually the speaker. So that's a pretty cool thing. We're showcasing it in our booth and we've also got it out in some homes in the outdoor exhibits.
HOST: Great. I'll have to go check that out.
DAVE: It's a pretty neat thing.
