Transcript: Mingo Custom Wood Products, Featured at the 2008 International Builders' Show

Watch the Video on Jewelry Cabinets (Mingo Custom Woods)

HOST: It's great to see you guys at the International Builders' Show. But tell us a little bit about Mingo Custom Woods and what you guys do.

REP: Well, we're still a small company. And we have a jewelry-closet cabinet that mounts on the wall. It's convenient in that the person opens the jewelry closet and they can see all the jewelry that they have in one, quick glance. People tell us all the time that they wear it a lot better because they can see it all everytime they open it up. It's not turned upside-down and it's not all tangled up in piles in drawers.

HOST: Right. So we see these -- I mean, do you get them most in custom homes or some of the builders in the master bathroom or master closet seem to be getting bigger and bigger. Are you seeing they cut more customs or are those back builders also buying these?

REP: We find both, primarily custom. Higher-end homes, but the thing that they find is that they really help the builders sell more houses.

HOST: Okay. Just an added little perk for a spec home that you can get maybe let one of the girls come in and see it, and if they like it -- Now does your product go -- ? Is it attached to the wall or are we going between the studs?

REP: It can be either. (HOST: Okay.) We sell them both ways. One is recessed into the wall, and one is actually mounted on the wall.

HOST: Is there different sizes and different, I guess, woodgrains and things like that on your product?

REP: Yeah, we have a couple different sizes, and then we also have it in oak and cherry and maple.

HOST: Okay. How big do they get?

REP: The largest one is fourteen and a quarter by forty-eight inches. (HOST: Okay.) And the smaller version of it is only thirty-three inches long. (HOST: Okay.) So it works real nice above counters.

HOST: Are they lockable and safe? You know, just to protect against burglars and some extra security.

REP: Yes. They are lockable, and one of the neat things about them since they are mounted to the wall, they can be hooked up to a security system real easy because it's all right there in the wall.

HOST: Our security guy can come in there and put the contacts on it. (REP: Yes.) Add it to your home-security system. (REP: Yes.) Alright. Great. Well, I need to go by and check out your booth here before we get out of the builders' show.

REP: Okay.

HOST: I appreciate it.

REP: Alright. Thanks, Scott.

HOST: Thanks. [END]
