Transcript: Newcomb Products, Featured at the 2008 International Builders' Show

HOST: One thing I love about the International Builders' Show is just the new and interesting products. Now you're with Newcomb. Tell us what you've got for us at the builders' show this year.

REP: I have an elevating storage cabinet. (HOST: Uh-huh.) It's a self-contained cabinet that stores along the ceiling of the garage--any wall in the garage--side walls, rear wall, behind the overhead garage-door hardware. It holds up to four-hundred pounds.

HOST: So we're getting rid of all that wasted space that we have in the garage that -- Cause my garage floor's always cluttered. (REP: Yep.) If we found a way to get it off the floor, that would be great.

REP: It goes up to the ceiling, installs along the wall, and raises up to the ceiling utilizing the space that no one else is using (HOST: Uh-huh.) with the push of a button. Plugs into any outlet. Runs in any fifteen-amp fuse and typically plug it in in the ceiling outlet in the garage.

HOST: Is this something that we're seeing remodelers use more or new construction or -- where -- ? What do you -- ?

REP: Right now it's been just remodeling. I haven't gotten into any new construction sites yet. We're brand-new.

HOST: Difficulties of installation. Is this a pretty -- ? Is this a do-it-yourselfer-type thing or do you need a good contractor?

REP: It needs to be professionally installed because of the weight that it'll hold, but -- Rainman could install it it's so simple. I mean it's an easy installation.

HOST: What -- ? How much power do I need to bring to this?

REP: Fifteen amp -- (HOST: Oh, wow!) -- Any fifteen-amp fuse. Yeah. It only draws eight amps. (HOST: So where do we basically -- ? Do you suggest that we plug it in or is it a direct wire or -- ?) No. Plug in. No electrician needed. (HOST: Very interesting. Okay.) It falls under the cabinets in a -- you know in a remodel, which typically doesn't mean you have to pull a permit either, which is nice.

HOST: It's nice. We can't always keep the county taxmen out of our pockets.

REP: Hey, you know, if you live in Clearwater, yeah --

HOST: Well, thank you very much.

REP: Thank you very much -- My pleasure. [END]
