The construction industry lost another 65,000 jobs in August, according to the latest figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This time, however, nonresidential specialty trade contractors bore the brunt of the losses (33,900). About 19,700 residential specialty trade contracting jobs also were eliminated.

Approximately 1.4 million jobs in construction have evaporated since the recession began.
