Moistureshield Composite Decking Now Available In Solid Profile
Source: BuildingOnline's eUpdate
Wed, 24 Jun 2009

SPRINGDALE, AR -- Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies (AERT), Inc., a plastics recycler and manufacturer of green building products, now offers MoistureShield composite decking in a solid board profile. Using new and improved manufacturing technology, MoistureShield Solid provides the strength and beauty of MoistureShield decking with a new profile option. Featuring a deep-embossed wood grain texture on both sides, MoistureShield Solid gives builders the flexibility to install the boards either side up, making deck and dock construction faster and easier.

MoistureShield Solid can be ordered with or without grooved sides to accommodate hidden fastening systems and is available in six colors: Cape Cod Gray, Earthtone, Rustic Cedar, Seasoned Mahogany, Terracotta, and Desert Sand.

"We've listened to the feedback from contractors, and a number of them prefer to use solid decking boards in their projects," says Brent Gwatney, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for MoistureShield. "Our new solid decking board enhances our existing line of Green building materials and provides contractors with more options to meet all of their decking needs. It is AERT's goal to provide the most sought after Green products at reasonable prices."

MoistureShield composite decking materials and composite decking accessories are manufactured using AERT's patented process that encapsulates recycled wood fibers in recycled polyethylene plastic. Due to this unique product make-up, it is resistant to rot, decay, moisture and insects. MoistureShield environmentally friendly decking contains a minimum of 30% post-consumer recycled content, and 60% pre-consumer recycled content.

In addition, MoistureShield decking and deck accessories require no special tools to install and are backed by a limited lifetime warranty against rot, decay and insect damage. MoistureShield products also exceed the requirements for landscape decking published in the LEED for Homes green building standard.
