Hats off to a remodeling contractor who did something I love: He found a better way. Remodeler David Crorey had a hard time laying out and lining up cut-outs for electrical devices in drywall a perennial challenge for a lot of us. Crorey decided that there had to be a better way and found it.
It works like this: Once the boxes are installed and before you switch and plug you insert a magnetic target that fits into the device box. Next, tack the sheet up. Then take the other half of the magnetic target and move it like stud finder over the device location. Once close to each other, the magnets suck together. It's incredible. Then, you just draw a line around the target, remove it and cut around the box. The magnets are so powerful, they work through 1-by T&G paneling. This is not a wimpy product. Thanks, Dave.
