So this is the first award I've ever given to food, but I "reviewed" Clif's new Builder nutrition bar, and I think it deserves some recognition. (Of course, by "reviewed," I mean "ate.")
The packaging on the Builder's Bars sucked me in guys building things. I felt like someone made a food product just for us. I checked out the label after that, and the bar has some good stuff in it: It's entirely natural (33 percent to 35 percent organic ingredients); has no trans fats or hydrogenated oils; and contains 23 vitamins and minerals. I don't know what any of that actually means, but I do know that a bag of chips and a YooHoo don't keep me racing like they used to.
What's kept me hooked, however, is that they're yummy. They don't taste like a 2x6, as one might expect from "healthy" food. They come in awesome flavors: Chocolate Mint, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, and Cookies 'n Cream.
What's even cooler is that while no one at Clif is really a builder, they donate some serious time to Habitat for Humanity, so there's at least some sawdust in the office.
