When I rout a piece of material whether it's a hunk of site-made trim I made of MDF that'll hide under paint or a piece of walnut for a woodworking project I want the material to come out crisp and clean. And it goes without saying that when it comes time to routing, the only bit you can use is the right bit. Close doesn't count.
Porter-Cable says its five new router bit sets can provide both clean cuts and selection. Each bit set (see below for model numbers and applications) feature Porter-Cable's POZI-STOP technology and Monster Carbide composition. According to the company, the POZI-STOP bits cut down on set-up time and are longer lasting and smoother running than other bits, providing those glass-smooth cuts we're looking for.
The Monster Carbide is 40 percent thicker than many standard bits, creating less friction and faster feed rates. I also like that you can buy them by specialty woodworking or laminate fabrication, for example or a set that covers the most popular uses. Flexibility is another nice feature.
