    Senco Finish Nailer

Senco isn't kidding when they call their new 15-gauge finish nailer ExtremePro. I got my paws on the FinishPro 42XP at their booth at IBS and was impressed. The first thing I noticed was the super-awesome balance. When I'm trimming, I want exact nail placements so I can get the molding just so and/or prevent blow outs in door and window jambs. To do that, I need a well-balanced tool. My customers thank me for molding that looks primo, and my arms thank me at the end of the day.

I also like the angled hose nipple that both keeps the hose out of my way and enables me to wiggle the tool a little tighter into those oddball corners. The no-mar rubber tip has two cool-looking features: It's made from an opaque rubber so it won't leave skid marks on clear trim packages, and there's on-board storage for it. The tool drives 15-gauge nails from 1-1/4 to 2-1/2 inches. What you can't tell by holding and shooting the tool is that Senco beefed up the internal drive components along with the warranty — now five years. Add to all this an adjustable depth of drive and comfort-grip handle, and the 42XP looks like a tool that'll serve you and your work well.
