DeWalt Work Light / Battery Charger

DeWalt's DC022 combination work light, battery charger and multi-plug is cool. Primarily it's a light, and the design is nice. Instead of a surface-of-the-sun-hot and glaring halogen bulb, the DC022's light source is a 38-watt fluorescent bulb that casts warm, even light. It won't light up an entire jobsite when you're burning midnight oil, but it is ideal for smaller places like closets, under sinks, utility rooms and even fishing around in the gang box at the end of the day. The light panel articulates so you can position it right where you need it. You can rest it on the floor or on a shelf, or hang it from a nail. It's versatile, and that's what we need on site.

The DC022 is also a battery charger — a sweet add-on if you're already invested in DeWalt cordless tools. In fact, it can not only charge batteries, it can run on them. The unit also has a three-way GFCI-protected plug for AC juice. It's got a three-year limited warranty, weighs just 11 pounds and comes in a sleek, collapsible design that'll fit inside a truck box, gang box or wherever you keep your tools without getting trashed.

    Hit the lights!
