    Kwikset Smart Scan

Now your customers can forget about fumbling for their house keys. They won't need them if you install the latest entry system from Kwikset. And they won't need to push a bunch of buttons or remember an access code. They just need their fingers.

For about $200, the lockset can actually open the door by reading a fingerprint. That's right. It's called biometrics. Using a physiological characteristic — in this case, a fingerprint — the lock can actually check to make sure the individual is allowed in the house. That means no one has to worry about kids losing house keys or about copying keys for the new housekeeper or a contractor working in the home. Just program their fingerprints into the lock.

Now before your customers worry about whether the contractor or housekeeper could possibly abuse their all-access fingerprint pass to your house — as they might have worried when they had a house key — explain that they can actually limit anyone's entry to specific times of the day and specific days of the week. The lock provides continual access for everyone who lives in the house; temporary access for the contractors who are installing a new wood floor; and restricted access for the housekeeper who comes once a week.

Powered by four AA alkaline batteries, the Smart Scan can store up to 50 fingerprints and has a back-up key.
