If your customers are looking to add a touch of "Wow!" in their houses without seriously breaking the budget, there's a family-run company producing handmade sinks that stopped me dead in my tracks at the International Builders Show. And if you've been to IBS, you know that there are so many shiny-fancy-pants products overflowing into the aisles that it gets hard to keep from going blind from the glare.

Thompson Traders crafts hand-finished sinks in copper, bronze, nickel, pewter and onyx. The process they use is centuries old, too. Artisans start with a chunk of copper, then fire it up and hammer it until about two weeks later there's a sink. (Note: I may have over-simplified their trade craft a bit here.) The company produces sinks that use machines to press the material, too, but even those are hand-hammered to give it the same look.

If your customers want the rustic look for more than just one showcase piece, Thompson Traders also creates bathtubs and accessories.
