If your customers have $3000+ to spend on their new refrigerators, Thermador's latest Freedom Collection is worth considering. It's primo in every way that I can imagine:
- It's modular. The refrigerator and freezer are actually separate "columns" that can be placed independently of each other wherever you want them in the kitchen.
- It's sized right. The columns fit inside standard kitchen counter depths — 24" and 30". There also are freezer and wine columns at 18".
- It's green. All of the products in the Freedom Collection are Energy-Star-qualified.
- It's flush mounted. The columns can be fully flush-mounted to cabinetry.
- It's strong. The column doors can accommodate serious weight, which is very cool. Custom panels that add up to 220 pounds.
- It's hi-tech. There's no need to unload the refrigerator to make room for your guest's huge platter of goodies. With a touch of a button, a motorized shelf can move a shelf loaded up to 22 pounds.
So if you have the budget, forget about designing around the bulky refrigerators that have defined the kitchen space for decades. The Freedom Collection is serious freedom in a nut shell.
