Medium Kitchens Category -- 3rd Place -- Leverage in Lighting
In preparation for their impending retirement and a move to a more urban setting, the clients prepared their 1940s-era home for resale. They came to the designer looking for kitchen wow factor on a moderate budget. The amazing result was just what they had asked for.

The kitchen's sleek modern design was incorporated into the overall eclectic mix of mid-century style that was prevalent throughout the home. This was achieved in part by using a dramatic mix of rich espresso and warm brandy stains on cherry cabinets, porcelain tile with random patterned glass mosaic backsplash, and countertops of granite tile and laminate.
