2009 NKBA Bathroom Design Finalists

Category: Small Bathrooms -- 1st Place -- Soothing Spa
In the client's condo, the challenge was to efficiently use the space of a master bath, while giving the bachelor homeowner the design presence he wanted, in addition to considering environmental impact in choosing products. A small niche to house a linen tower with hamper was carved out of a closet that backs up to the bathroom wall. The custom-designed Lyptus wood vanity is dark stained and has a grid pattern shelf on the bottom, in addition to hidden drawers on either side of the sink.

Two small floating shelves and a wood backdrop to hang the mirror add visual interest to the space. An existing green slate tile floor remained. This comfortable masculine design highlights simple yet impacting points in the room, while eliminating a non-descript standard condo bathroom.
